After nearly three years away from the octagon, UFC superstar Conor McGregor finally has a date and opponent locked in for his highly anticipated comeback fight.
On June 29th, the former two-division champion will face Michael Chandler in a 170-pound bout at UFC 303 during International Fight Week in Las Vegas.
This will be McGregor’s first fight since suffering a broken leg against Dustin Poirier in 2021, an injury that sidelined him since. Although, scheduling conflicts, including McGregor’s recent acting role in the “Road House” remake, did contribute to the delays in booking his comeback fight.
While once the kingpin of the featherweight and lightweight divisions, McGregor has just one win since 2016 as he’s taken time away from MMA to pursue boxing and other endeavors. At 170 pounds, he’ll be competing at his third different UFC weight class.
All eyes will be on Vegas to see if the 34-year-old superstar can re-capture his fighting prowess against Chandler.
