The simmering rap feud between Drake and Rick Ross has intensified, with the Toronto superstar taking aim at his former collaborator over outlandish claims made on Ross’ new diss track “Champagne Moments.”
The back-and-forth stems from Drake’s recently leaked track “Push Ups (Drop and Give Me 50),” which contained lines perceived as shots at Ross amidst Drake’s broader disses aimed at Kendrick Lamar and Metro Boomin.
Rick Ross quickly retaliated with “Champagne Moments,” alleging Drake has employed ghostwriters and underwent cosmetic surgery, including a nose job.
In an exchange with his mother posted to Instagram Sunday, Drake amusingly dismissed the nose job rumor, chalking it up to Ross having “gone loopy” after excessive use of the weight loss drug Mounjaro. He accused the rapper of making “angry and racist” comments out of desperation for relevance.
“It’s coming from Rick Ross the guy I did songs with,” Drake told his mom. “He’s gone loopy off the Mounjaro, he hasn’t eaten in days and it’s turned him angry and racist. He’s performing at proms for money, it’s bad.”
The multi-platinum artist then warned Ross directly that more retaliation is imminent, tagging his former collaborator and writing “Don’t worry, we’ll handle it. You’re one nosey goof.”
While Drake and Ross have joined forces on several hit records over the years, their current rift just shows how even the tightest industry relationships can sour.
