Justin Bieber has fans worried after he posted a series of photos to Instagram on Saturday, including two images that appear to show the 30-year-old pop star crying.
Fans are concerned that Bieber may be struggling with his mental health again.
“He was such a happy and lively man back then. I hope he’s okay,” one commenter wrote, echoing the fears rippling through Justin Bieber’s online fan communities.
It’s been a turbulent few years for the “Peaches” singer, who has been open about battles with depression, Lyme disease, and past substance abuse issues.
An insider close to Bieber recently revealed to media outlets that while his surprise Coachella performance alongside Tems was “a huge accomplishment,” he remains “very fragile” amid the “severe ups and downs” he’s experienced.
Additionally, resurfaced videos from Bieber’s early career as a teenage superstar have also stoked fears that he may have witnessed or experienced disturbing behavior by figures like Diddy, who is currently facing sexual assault allegations.
Some are speculating Justin Bieber’s childhood exposure to the darker sides of the entertainment industry could be a factor in his fragile mental state.
“Fans are worried Justin could be ‘crying out for help’ with these tearful posts and linking it to potential horrors he was exposed to as a young star,” said one Bieber stan account.
Bieber has been relatively quiet since being diagnosed with the rare neurological disorder Ramsay Hunt Syndrome in 2022, which caused paralysis in half his face and forced him to cancel tour dates.
His Coachella cameo marked one of his first major performances since then. For now, Bieber has yet to address the reason behind the two Instagram images.
